Golden Retrievers are more than just adorable to look at. One of the biggest reasons why they are common amongst pet households is their friendly disposition towards everyone. Another interesting feature is that they are natural swimmers. They love the water and need no excuse to dive right in. As travel companions, you need to look no further, non fussy eaters and highly adjusting and obedient, the golden retriever is what you need, be it a stroll in the park or a trek up the hills.
Labs as they are more commonly called are very similar to the Retrievers. Their insatiable desire to please their parents/ master coupled with their friendly and cuddle-worthy demeanour make for a fun travel companion. As part of the Retriever family they are happiest when outdoors and their love for a swim knows no bounds. Like the Retrievers, labs are likely to be comfortable amdist groups of people as well making them perfect +1s for those group outings. The next time you plan a visit, forget your regular game of fetch and instead hit the local water body and watch your friendly lab transform into an amphibious superstar!
Size does matter! Especially when you are traveling. A Chihuahua’s’ size makes them easy to manage while traveling. Infact they are allowed in the cabin with you if were traveling by air (subject to airline rules). Don’t be fooled by their size though, they are very loyal companions and are courageous and protective of their parents. All in all you’re likely to be a happy pet parent if your pet were to be a Chihuahua.
Boxers life up to their name. They are energetic, agile, athletic and are open for the outdoors at the drop of a hat! Be sure to not keep them indoors for too long or else you may just dampen their mojo. They love to bound about and are up for open spaces irrespective of whether its time for a game. They are loyal and very protective. They form great companions if you prefer to travel solo and you love open spaces such as farmhouses and river side flatlands.
Don’t’ be fooled by their looks. Generations of being bred in the same local environment makes them highly intelligent and fully aware of the ways of land. They are strong physically and medically (immune system). They are by nature extremely loyal, making them great travel buddies. They tend to be fit for long journeys or nature trails and treks are not a problem with them at all.
All in all, dogs form great companions both within your house as well as outdoors. The next time you plan a holiday try a pet friendly holiday – you are bound to be pleasantly surprised with how your pet will take to the outdoors !
